RMW - Matthew R. Mills Traveling Scholars Program

The Architectural Foundation of San Francisco and the California College of the Arts

The RMW - Matthew R. Mills Traveling Scholars Program was established in 2000 to support the California College of the Arts (CCA).  Each year for the past five years students in CCA’s Interior Design program have had the opportunity to travel as a cohort with faculty members Tony Spurlock and Peony Quan to cities such as Columbus, Indiana and Shaker Village, Kentucky, Chicago, Palm Springs and Las Vegas.  Students explored broad design related themes including materials, communities of making, design-driven environments, and branded environments.  Each year between ten and nineteen students in this studio also had the unique benefit of traveling with Matthew Mills and/or of his participation in critiques.
