The Architectural
Foundation of San Francisco offers many opportunities
for involvement from the greater San Francisco community.
Our programs reach large numbers of school children
and provide them with insights into the world of design
that they might not receive in the course of their
regular instructional day. In order to meet our commitment
to these kids, we need your support. If you are interested
in participating in one of our programs as a volunteer,
a mentor, or a resource please contact us through carol@afsf.org.
Current needs:
The Build San Francisco Institute
Program:
- Volunteers with design skills
to help with instruction
- Art supplies and office supplies
- Books for our library
- Mentors for our students (see
the information below)
Become
a Mentor
Every
Build San Francisco student receives credit by working
with a mentor two afternnons each week. Mentors are
working professionals who are paired with students
that are interested in the work of that profession.
Mentors meet regularly with the students and give
students a first-hand look by involving them in the
work of their firm. The Build San Franciso program
has met with strong support from the entire building
community including architects, engineers, general
contractors, developers and policy organizations.
We need your assistance in this effort to offer this
opportunity to an increasing number of students.
If you or your firm is interested in becoming a mentor,
please email Will Fowler at will@afsf.org.
